SELF ESTEEM

What does your "INNER VOICE"say?
Have you wondered about what self esteem is and how to get more of it? Do you think your self esteem is low? Do you know who to tell? Do you know what to do about it? Self esteem answers the question,"How do i feel about who I am?"if you were to be tottaly honest, would you say that you really and truly like yourself or are you constantly performing makeovers on your appearance, personalities and abilities? When you look in the mirror do you see imperfections in your skin and hair and wish you could make them go away? Do you feel the same way about your personality?
It's all easy to become a mental make over fanatic especially when reality shows are doing just that to everything. You get to the point where you see yourself not as you truly are but only as you wish to be. Ophelia in "Hamlet"said,"we know what we are, but know what we may be.We  know what we are, and we wish we weren't this way. ".The basis for a positive self esteem is that you accept yourself as you are not as you May be.
In sociology and Psychology, self esteem reflects a person's overall subjective emotional evaluation of his or her own worth. It's a judgement of oneself as well as attitude towards the self.
Smith and Mackie defined it by saying, ".....Self esteem is the positive or negative evaluations of the self,as in, how we feel about it"

Experiences in aperson's life are a major source of how self esteem develops .Parents have a significant influence on self esteem especially in the early years of a child's life.Unconditional love from parents helps a child develop a stable sense of being cared for respected. And it effects the child's esteem as he or she grows.
